Dromineer Beach is classified as achieving a Good Water Quality result in 2025 based on the assessment of bacterilogical results for the period of 2024 to 2025. Dromineer Beach was newly identified in 2024 as a beach for monitoring, management and assessment under the requirements of the 2008 Bathing Water Quality Regulations. Annual water quality ratings are generally calculated using monitoring results over a four-year period and are assessed against stringent bacterial limits to protect bather health.

Dromineer Beach is located on the eastern shores of Lough Derg, approximately ten kilometers north west of Nenagh town. The village has a long association with sailing and is currently home to the Nenagh Boat Club, the private Shannon Marina, the public Dromineer Harbour and it is also home to the Lough Derg RNLI Station. The ruins of Dromineer Tower which overlook the village date back to the 1500's. The beach area which extends to approximately 120m in length is defined by piers which delineate the extent of the beach area to the north and south. It is a slightly sloping stony, shingle beach and encompasses a total area of 0.01km2. A central oval pier divides the beach area and houses a number of seating benches and a grass area. The area is designated a special area of conservation and is home to many species of protected birds. An aquapark operates in the vicinity of Dromineer Beach during the summer months. Other activities in the immediate area include swimming, boating, angling, kayaking, SUP boarding and pedal boats.
